Team Butlerbot: Second Initial Blog Post

Summary: Re-introduction of the project for the new Prototyping Competition.

Project:

The design is a "mobile autonomous beverage delivery system." More specifically, it is a small robot that can transport drinks and other objects around your home. The unique aspect to its design is that it will have the capability to raise itself up so that you do not have to bend down in order to load or unload it, making it user friendly for people on crouches who may need to carry items around their home. The robot will also be able to use this same lifting system in order climb up and down stairs.

Main Goals:
  1. Design and build a new acrylic body (laser cut).
  2. Introduce a system to allow for autonomous stair climbing (while upgrading the current lift and drive mechanisms).
  3. Find a more reliable power source (Not a priority).
